are you hunting are just target shooting? If hunting you don’t want that brake. If target shooting then might try other bullets. Also if using 30 or 34mm ring the Burris signature tactical rings are about as good as the get under 3-400 range.

[QUOTE=Mike D;16346858]If you are doing a prefit then yeah you are stuck with a SAAMI chamber. Nothing wrong with it per se’ but it can benefit from longer freebore and seating depth to get the base of the bullet out of the powder column and past the donut that can form at the neck junction.
Proof makes 9 twist .308 barrels. And where did they say they recommend against monos? Tons of folks shoot Hammers and Barnes in Proof barrels with a 9 twist in their 300 Norma Mags.
I’m having an 8 twist barrel built for my Norma so I can shoot the heavy monos if I want to.
I gotcha. I was going to adjust seating depth after I fireworm my first work up but understand I'll be limited.
I'm on my phone so you'll have to pardon me, but if you google proof carbon break in and read there manual and warranty that's where they state it against monos.

Sounds like an awesome build, cant wait to see the outcome of how it shoots and what load you end up going with. A good person to pick their brain is @jason_jeter__ on Instagram, he has several custom 300wm and does a lot of load development. Super nice guy and is always willing to help and answer DM questions

Calibrate muzzle ports.
Adjust scope for POI.

Very nice stick sir. I second, third and fourth Blake's suggestion to bed. I assume, seeing that it came with the chassis in it, that it also came with pillars? Glass bed and then sell the current Harris bipod and drop some coin on an Atlas. It will give you the ability to form the legs to the terrain as well as giving much better recoil management after loading up on the rifle (aka it won't jump).

I've never used an Atlas. My harris is adjustable. I'll have to check one out. I've heard good things but mostly blah blah its 3x the cost.
