New custom Red Desert Rifle 6.5 PRC

I did a retrofit on a 300 Rum last year and Chad nailed it. So had him build a 6.5 PRC for me. Bastogne Walnut, cerakote action and barrel, Leupold 7x35x56. Just got it and can’t wait to shoot it.

I hate to tell you this but he put the cheek piece on the wrong side. Unless you are a left handed shooter using a right hand action. Nice stick!

                  Gorgeous wood!
That stock shape is a little crazy looking. I guess my eyes aren't used to a wood stock looking like that.

WOW!! That really sucks. That's a beautiful rifle, but wrong handed. That is a beautiful rifle, I love that wood, love the work done to the stock. That thing is nice.

I can't tell what type of action it has, the trigger guard and floor plate release look like what is commonly used on aftermarket Model 98 actions. Whatever it is, it is beautiful. I would like to see some close ups of the action, bolt and barrel.

I am a left handed shooter. Look again. This is my first true left handed gun. My gun he retrofitted last year is just as you described. Left hand cheek piece and right hand bolt. Works great.

Chad does great work and is very easy to deal with. Go do it. It’s not inexpensive but it’s something to hand down for generations IMO.

I’ll get some when I get home tomorrow. It is his action that he custom builds Feels like a Remington action to me but I’m not knowledgeable enough to really tell?

Here is one my brother had built at the same time as mine. It’s 6.5 PRC in Myrtle.

What did it cost? I didn’t think it was bad. $1500ish for the stock?
