Politicians LOVE to sneak stuff in to laws that we don’t think is a big deal, only later to look at it differently which changes what we thought the meaning was.
HR7910 makes it illegal to assemble ghost guns. In the bill it states that each main component of a firearm has to have a serial number. If it doesn’t then putting a firearm together without all major parts having serial numbers would be breaking the law. So, if your slide on your pistol does not have a serial number, and you take the pistol apart to clean it, then reassembly would then be classified by HR7910 as assembling a ghost gun.
Don’t even think about adding the serial number to all the parts because HR7910 covers that too. The only people that can add the serial number is the manufacturer.
