Ammo prices...

I know, I know... millions of threads. This is nothing more than a repeat. I paid $200 for 80 rounds of 6.5 PRC around Christmas time. It was a round I was unfamiliar with.

I happened to go to Texas Gun Expereince in Grapevine the other day to kill time. They had 180gr core lokt 30.06...the last time I bought it, it was $22 for 20 rounds. Now it's $50. Also during the shortage I bought Hornady ELD Match 6.5 grendel for $15 a box at Academy. Texas Gun Experience had it for $45.

I don't shoot much, and I probably never will with prices like that. I believed yall, but now it has hit home.

Is reloading still just as bad? Is it more economic?

If you have no reloading equipment and don’t plan on shooting a thousand rounds a year then reloading isn’t really “economical” I’m sitting around .40-.80 cents a round for most of my guns but you have to buy enough components for 7-900 rounds at a time to get the cost down that much. Helps having multiple cartridges that take the same powder/primers but still isn’t cheap

Not sure what's worse. Price of ammunition or being able to even find it to begin with.

Might be misunderstanding. Maybe you mean the grendel. If so that’s still high. I was paying $15-17 regularly before all this mess. I’m seeing ammo stay in stock and go on sale often now. 9mm for .30 per round often. It’s getting better. Long way to go though.
