    A warning about Silencer Central...

So, I bought a suppressor from them last year at the Ducks Expo in Ft. Worth, and was told that they would keep my finger prints stored for my use for other NFA purchases or anything else that I needed them for. Well, I'm doing a Form 1 SBR, and they are now refusing to send me a copy of my finger prints citing "privacy concerns". However, should I decide to purchase another suppressor from them, they would happily use them. I'm pretty sure that Capital Armory and most other Class III dealers offer finger print storage and are happy to provide you with YOUR FINGERPRINTS for whatever you need them for. I just had to pay for new ones. Just a heads up.

Be grateful you're not trying to get a key for a Harley Davidson from a dealership. They wanted me to bring my registration back to them before they'd order me a tour-pak lockset keyed alike to my ignition... even though I bought the bike from them.

I wish everyone would cooperate, but….go into military (fingerprinted), go to work at police department (fingerprinted), leave to work at another police department (fingerprinted), leave there and go back to original police department(fingerprinted again), get some professional licenses issued by the State of Texas (fingerprinted for each license).

Do a little research prior to jumping the gun. Lesson learned

Capitol Armory is great but I will transfer all my stuff locally from now on with the E FIles

As stupid as this is, you still have to file Form 1's by mailing paper finger prints, even though Form 4's accept digital prints.

I know guys have used Silencer Central and had a good experience, but they have a reputation for a reason. I stay clear.

It's really easy to roll your own fingerprints. You can order the cards and ink on Amazon. The ATF will even send you cards for the cost of shipping.

Hmm and here I thought SC was the shizzle from all the rave here about them.

Mine have all come from the guy Ive known for 30 years. ATF lost my prints on the last one and the shop reprinted and sent them again. All we had to do was sign. Crappy part was I went back to the end of the line even though the ATF lost them.

For Form 1 do your own prints. You can get free finger print cards from the ATF. An inkpad for finger prints is about $5 on Amazon. As I understand they don’t get a lot of scrutiny in the approval process. I have been successful on several Form 1 applications doing them myself.

I’ve submitted some pretty bad prints that got approved. There was a guy on a different forum that was intentionally sending in the worst prints he could and never got a denial.

Good information here. I was just hoping to be able to send digital prints in, but BATF-CK is too stupid to make that possible on Form 1's, even though that's how the Form 4's work.
