    375 H&H - Reloading Data

    I recently picked up a Winchester 1885 Fallin Block in 375 H&H.

Was wondering what your go to powder and projectile is for this round.

Does anyone have a reduced load that you use for hunting game smaller than a T-Rex?

    260gr accubond
    IMR 4350 75gr = 2570fps

Good for anything except a T-Rex from 5-350 yards

I load 73.5gr of RL-15 behind 260gr Nosler Partitions and touch it off with a Gold Medal 215M primers. I think they are running right at 2830 if I remember correctly. M70 with a 24" barrel.

That 260 grain accubond really flattens out the trajectory at distance.

RL15 and the 260gr accubond is a popular combo - 69.0gr is straight out of several load manuals at 3.580” and 3.600” COAL.

H4350 and 260gr partitions is also popular. Somewhere around 78/79gr and .050-.060 thousands off the rifling.

Both have moderate recoil in the 375

The .375H&H is a wonderful round. There's a bunch of powders that work well in it. I'm using RL15 in mine with a 270 TSX or 270 Hornady spire point. W760/H414, Varget, and W748 also work well. IMR4064 with heavier bullets.

RL15 is my go to powder for my 375 H&H using Barnes 300 gr TSX. Very accurate combination.

                Anybody ever tried 8208.

                It is similar to CFE223.

I have a bunch and was wondering if it would work.

                I see CFE223 recommended for the 375H&H

375 is not a very picky round. I've used a lot of different powder over the years. If you have a manual, use about anything listed as suitable. Just try to keep the case fill over half full. Just for giggles, cast bullets sized at .377 and about an 80 percentage fill of trail boss powder is fun stuff without getting beat up.
