I now run a Bear Creek side charge upper in 7.62x39. It runs great with the cheap Tula steel case ammo, 154 grain soft points. I use C- products 10 round mags. Works great out to about 75-100 yards using the thermal. I am playing with a 16'' AR 10 in 308. It runs well, but it is way heavier than the 15. Thermal mounted with a full 10 round mag is about 11 pounds. Ok for a stand, but no fun for an old fat guy to run and gun.
