Still crying over CCC closing. Just waiting on someone to take their place to use my 300prc again
It was, and still is, a huge loss for the N.TX LR shooting community. Given the unbelievable rate of development around here, I don't see how we will ever have an opportunity that close again.

      Those are nice!

How do the prisms affect light transmission?

It's pretty dang good glass. You can't really notice when one is on there, and can barely see some degradation when two of them are on there.

Sadly it’s only a matter of time before many local shooting ranges will close.

In 34 yrs, I’ve been a member of 2 ranges that closed due to urban residential expansion and the private landowner deciding to sell out for easy $$$. One of those ranges held a National Benchrest shooting match with 150+ competitors from all over the country. The Crawfish Invitational was one of the top 3 shooting matches for several decades. The range was located 5 minutes from my house and so convenient to shoot in the early AM or late PM hours. My current shooting range is 1 hr. 20 min. away and I probably go 3-4 times per year. If it closes I’m SOL.

What grain bullet in the 416's and how much powder are you burning? Those things look awesome!

I assume you're going with the 416 this season?

                    Great looking builds!

If you were wanting to shoot a mile max, what caliber would be your choice?

If it was frequently beyond 1K and out to a mile at the far end, I'd be looking at one of the larger 30 cals running 220-250 gr bullets. 300 Win Mag throated properly, 300 PRC, 30 Nosler, 300 Norma or 30-28 Nosler would all be solid choices. The 300 Norma and 30-28 are ballistic twins that run on different bolt faces. So close that load data is interchangeable down to the 1/2 grain. A 230 pointed Berger hybrid with either one of those is magic. If you can get the A-Tips to hold together.......even better. I've given up on them myself.

Haven't settled on "the one" yet, but will either be 525 gr or 550 gr Cutting Edge Laser based on limited testing so far. Powder charge is in the 160ish grain range with RL50.

WOW!!! 43 ish rounds per lb of powder, that’s wild.

Would love to see some videos of it in action.
