400-600 would be my educated guess. They aren't yet as collectible as they should/will be. Especially for a nice early model like that one. Also depends on the wear/marks on it. A couple really small ones won't hurt much. More than that, and the price will start falling.
If that freckling comes off, add 200 to that value if the wood is clean.Last edited by TSE; 03-08-2022, 07:56 PM.

$800+
But I’d give you that $400

Perusing GunBroker(dot)com.... Holy cow. What a difference a year makes. I've watched these rifles for decades and they never really got collectible until apparently the last year or so. The last ones off the line were the CDNN special run of color case hardened frames. They made those in 04 or 05, a few other "special run" items, and then ceased production. I expected them to go up in value quickly. They didn't. But it appears now that like all things potentially collectible, there are people willing to throw all kinds of money at them. In light of what I'm seeing, I wouldn't take a dime less than 700 for that rifle.
But then, why sell such a great, iconic 22? Nobody makes one quite the same these days. And since it isn't pristine, it would make a perfect field gun to be used, taken care of, and cherished by some lucky kid in the family. Worthy of being passed on for a few generations. Compared to what else is out there, that's kinda priceless..

I totally get it. I tried to give this rifle to my friends son but the young man had just purchased one with the money he earned all summer working with his dad on ranches. He didn't have a pistol so I gave him one instead of the rifle. Other than that, I don't have any heirs or family that would appreciate it for what it is. Its my hope that whoever buys this will have someone in line to both use and cherish this lever. You gave me something to think about for sure, I'll think on it for a few more days before listing...Until then I'll post up a cool older .22 pistol FS later today.

Great rifles. I would hesitate to sell and it would be at least $800, probably more. The value on these has gone way up in the last couple years. Even with the freckling in the pictures it will sell quickly at a reasonable price. The Winchester 9422 and the Marlin 39 have gotten very popular.
