    Where to market firearm?

I have tried sending a PM to Artos about this but apparently they aren't going through.

I have a 1985 S & W Model 13-3 .357 that I'm likely going to sell. It sits in the safe and has likely had less than 200 rounds through it since I bought it 37 years ago. Where would be the best place to market the gun. They appear to be bringing some decent money these days or I wouldn't be considering selling it. No box but have paperwork that came with it. I thought I had a fellow on Texags that wanted it but he has gone cold. Thoughts?

Pics of the gun are here. https://billmorris.smugmug.com/Priva...l-13/n-DDLKXb/

Classifieds on here would be a good place to start.

Here, THF, TGT, or GunBroker. Anywhere right now the prices are high.

            Bill,

That gun could touch the $1k mark...at the ranch hunting but will be back in front of the big pc mañana. Should be an easy sale / desirable rig. Original box will help value.

Guys, thanks for the replies. I heard from Artos (Paul). I'll PM my asking.

Paul, thanks. That is what I have been seeing + for this gun. I guess it has been resting waiting for this moment.

Don’t list on here unless you want to get lowballed. Texas Gun Trader or Guns International would be my suggestion. Maybe even Gunbroker.

I know the drill here but did anyway. I'm not taking less than I want but decided to give someone here a chance.

Lowballs don’t have to be considered. I sold a couple handguns on here fairly recently and each one sold to someone who knew what they were bringing. YMMV

So how do these gun trading sites work? Pay a % fee of the sale? Are people rated as buyers and sellers on these sites?

                          Bill,

It's gonna be tough signing up as a new seller & getting top $$$ w/ no feedback...lotsa brand new sellers with higher end items can actually get flagged as a buyer beware. You can figure a 5% fee on gunbroker for a window.

If you think it's something you might want to do I would recommend selling some lower end items starting at a penny, ship them out quick & getting some positive feedback before moving the pistol...kinda surprised it hasn't sold. There is history of those selling for $1k, then you figure in sales tax, shipping & 4473 fee for the buyer that puts those similar gun's value at over $1100.

                          It's a real good deal @ $900 for someone.

I still want one of those but they have drifted north of my price range. I have dealt with gunbroker sellers for years. But at this time I'm seeing to many new sellers with no feedback, or low feedback. It causes concern when they have high dollar items with no feedback. I do agree with what others have previously stated it should be an easy sell, considering it's condition. When i list something i don't even bother responding to lowball offers, they are only wasting my time and theirs.

Thanks, Paul. I have been looking as seeing prices in several places north of $1000 so I thought someone might jump on it. Had a couple of nibbles at Texags but no bites. I may just decide to hang on to it if I can't sell it. I don't sell enough to really mess with one of the gun sites.

                              Thanks, guys.
