Looking for AR in 300 Blk, possibly suppressed

Looking at another ar in 300 blackout. Considering purchasing a suppressor, but I have zero clue the process for purchasing. I know it’s a lengthy deal, anyone care to help guide me? Also, suggestions on brands of guns to look at? Current ar is a core 15, prob have 1000 rounds through it and it’s a great gun. Purchased at Atwoods for 900 out the door; so it didn’t break the bank either. Thanks guys.

I built this one. It's an aero complete 16" upper and a stripped aero that I built. Probably have around 1400-1500 in the gun total. Running a griffin recce 7 can on it and so far it is flawless. Best way I've found to do the suppressor is just find a shop with a silencershop kiosk and do everything there. I have one suppressor in jail now and hoping the new e-form system will make everything go by fast and I'll have it on a gun

tax stamps are suppose to be 90 days or less now with the new E filing system they started using.

Gotcha. Should I run suppressed or no? Using for home defense. Maybe a gun I can pack in a bag as well.

If you're running a home defense gun I don't see a need in it if it's something you will use on a daily basis I can s÷ the benefit

I think if you are running a BLK it needs to be suppressed! It's the ideal round to do it with.

I have Daniel Defense Pistol that is top notch.

I have an upper that bought for this purpose but it's just been a safe queen. Debating on selling it but think I may go ahead and do it. If I could only buy ammo for it. Finding ammo would convince me to build it out.

That said would entertain talking to someone about what I have and what I'd take for it too.

Here's one take on not using silencers on home protection guns-

                  Warrior Poets Society -

If you agree with his stance it could save you ~$1k on something that sounds like it's gonna just collect dust.

                    I can respect his opinion.

                    Here is my stance.

You wake up to some bad characters coming into your home.

Have you ever shot a SBR or AR Pistol at night? For that matter some handguns depending on powder load?

The muzzle blast and sound inside will really impair your senses, even momentarily.

Shooting suppressed will keep you much more aware of whats going on.

That just my two cents. Not saying I keep an AR Pistol with a can on it by my bed or not. :-)

Your not going to have a big fire fight in your house more than likely. Once the dirt bag knows he’s busted and your armed they are going to look for the fastest way out. With all the adrenaline you probably won’t remember hearing more than a shot or two anyways.

                        Yep, overthinking it

As far as for pigs hunting, I sold my .300 BLK for more then I paid for it and never looked back.

Never again. And yes I was suppressed. Like shooting a .22 at running pigs

Buy a double barrel shotgun. Just step off the back balcony and fire 2 rounds

Get the suppressor because they are awesome. Pick you out a couple of them since you have to wait anyway. Call Capitol Armory, they do everything by mail and will UPS the suppressor to you. The biggest pain about it is getting the finger prints done. You can go have the passport photos taken or us a passport photo app on your phone.
