Vortex Crossfire II Rifle Scope 4-12x 44mm

This scope is @ or below my price range, opinion On vortex brand ??
It seems heavy @ 2.24 lbs, new scope is going on a 6 lbs Remington788 .308 and would like to stay under 8 total
Any suggestions on other brand that will not break the bank account?

Plans are replacing scope on Remington, and putting it on a win 9422m 22mag
And a leupold m8 x6 on my win 94 30-30
And 2nd vortex 3-9 on CVA scout 35whelen

And keep my budget?

No advice to offer on other brands, but I love vortex and believe they are worth saving for. The lifetime warranty is hard to beat in my opinion. I have both a vortex scope on my rifle and one of their sporting scopes and have zero complaints.

Also not sure your history or anything, but they also offer military/veteran discounts so that is helpful in the budget aspect, if applicable.

I'd pass on anything Vortex under the Viper PST Gen II line. Yes, their warranty is great, but you'll likely need it on their lower end stuff. Their high end stuff is great on the other hand.

Need to measure my eye relief as it seems vortex designed some scope for picatinny rail
Which I can’t fit on a rem 788
