    Glock 40 MOS Hunter 10mm?

Anyone have one or experience with? Son's gave me a Sig p220 Elite Hunter in 10mm last year for my birthday but would prefer something in 10mm with higher capacity magazine vs the 1911 Sig capacity (not the best with handgun accuracy, lol.) Been researching many 10mm models and as I "like" Glocks considering trading or selling the Sig to go this route?

I understand this Glock model is NOT a ideal concealed or belt pistol but I carry the 10mm in a chest holster setup, strictly for hunting sidearm.

Please, no Glock bashers, just seeking something else to fit my desires?

    Thanks......Kuma

I have a Glock Gen4 40 MOS and am not convinced I like the halo sight. I have killed deer, Aoudad, pigs etc. with it and enjoy the mag capacity, but I have been looking at the Sig legion. I go back and forth on which one I think I would like more.

The g20 it fairly easy to holster carry or even CC . I had my slide milled for optics but gun was stolen before I could use it .

I had a Glock 40 MOS with a Venom on it and it was great. I wanted something a little quicker to deploy so downed to a G20 with tritium sites. The 40 was smoother and more accurate but the 20 is no slouch with accuracy either, I'm consistently hitting my smallest plate at 20 yards with it.

I have one I shot a few times. I don’t really care for it. It’s still a Glock. It doesn’t come close to my STI Perfect 10’s.

I like glocks. But there are a lot better options for a hunting handgun.

You say you’re not the best shot with a handgun… is utilizing a pistol with a crap trigger really going to help you shoot better? When is the added capacity actually going to be useful?

When I take a pistol hunting it is a FA model 83 454 casull or a gp100 in 357. I have yet to run out of ammo in the gun.

If you just want the Glock, buy the Glock. But I don’t see any real advantage to it for hunting.

I am not far away from you and have a Glock 40 MOS 10mm if you want to shoot it. There is a pistol range right by my office up by Cabelas.

I carry my G40 with a Leupold Delta Point in a belt holster, but it’s a crossdraw. A crossdraw is much better for sitting in a UTV or lease ride and certainly in a deer stand. I replaced the trigger in mine with a Zev so the “crappy trigger” is no longer an issue. All that said, mine is relegated to a “riding around gun” and not something I hunt with seriously. I have multiple revolvers for that.

i have a g20 , bought it before the 40 came out.. shot a pig @ 64 yards with one... actually a friend of mine bought one just like mine ... we walked up to a field .. i had my 20Ga shotgun he had his g20 , he handed it to me as i am a better pistol shooter than him , so we swapped ... i shot and hit .. group ran for the tree line where he was .. he unloaded bird shot at them... and squealed like a little girl ... the finally turned and ran into the woods ... i wish i had it on video... anyhow, also got a gen 2 g17 ... in my opinion you can't go wrong for what you get.. if you like glocks and are accurate with them .. if you have bad technique and trigger mgmt .. you might need a more refined firearm that is more forgiving.

i added a plate and a dot to my gen 2 .. i can sling lead fairly consistent at 50 and 100 yards as seen in my video.. i'll probably eventually get one...

on another note if the glock trigger ergonomics is not your thing the new m&p looks promising too ... good luck whatever you chose!

I've got a G40 and a 20. Carry the 20 in bear country and have the 40 with a Holosun Red Dot for hunting. Both are accurate and up to their assigned tasks, though haven't needed the 20 for bear. Hope it stays that way!

I had the 20 and really liked it but one of my son's loved it so now he has it and I probably won't ever get it back, lol! Loaned it to him to take on a trip to Alaska couple of years ago. I just talked to a buddy that has a gun shop and he told me he has not seen one in any of his distributers yet? I assumed that it had been released but who knows on the 40MOS Hunter??

Is the 40 MOS “hunter” something that Google doesn’t recognize or am I missing something?

I've been jonesing the EEA Witness in 10mm so I could shoot it as a single action when accuracy is desired.

That looks to be where your current 10mm already is .

I have the 40MOS with a Burris FF3 sight, pulling the trigger until it goes bang on a striker fired gun doesn't help to increase accuracy (I'm on my 2nd replacement trigger connector-it's better than factory, but not single action smooth).
My 40MOS is accurate enough, but the single action ability of what your gun offers is what I desire in my next 10. (oops forgot I put a 1911 - 10 in the safe last year, so I own one- just want the EEA witness anyways I guess)

I carried the glock/10 all season this year thanks to the border situation. I figured 16 rounds in the air would scare more away than the 5 my 454 casul holds.
Besides the better lifers that raided our camp while we were on stand I luckily never saw any in person.
