Anybody here built a rimfire on a RimX action? If so what are your specs and experiences? I ordered a RimX this morning, and trying to figure out my barrel situation. For the meantime I’ll throw it in one of my spare stocks, but I’m ordering a Manners CS for it here soon. Once it comes in it’ll be ready for my boy, which based on past experience with Manners will be far too long.

Well after lots of researching I chose on a Lothar Walther custom barrel. Not quite the way I was wanting to go, but .17 barrels are hard to come by and smiths that have a reamer for the WSM is even harder to find. The one smith who would I refuse to give my money to. So lots of research on the LW 17WSM barrels, and I’ve read nothing but great things. Decided to give them a try. Went ahead and ordered a Manners CS for it as well. Being that Manners is the slowest thing on earth I intend to throw the barreled action in one of my spare stocks for the next year or three until Manners can eventually deliver their stock roughly 6–12 months after their quoted delivery lol I’ve got a TriggerTech Special that’ll be tossed in as well. I’m really looking forward to this little rifle!

I’ve still got that ammo I bought for you too. Just haven’t made it up your way. Haha
I should be up there sometime in the next couple weeks.

Well UPS was typical UPS. 3 day delivery turned into 8 day delivery. Anyways it’s together now, and going to play around with it this weekend. I’ll drop the barrel by the cerakoter next week to get get it coated black to match the action. Anyways here it is with a raw barrel. If this thing shoots as good as it looks I’ll be plenty happy. There’s also one of my boy excitedly playing with the rifle minus barrel earlier this week. He sees “dada” shooting and gets excited for his own. Hoping by this time next year he’ll be old enough to start shooting it, but in the meantime it’s more safety basics for him. We broke in my nephew at 3 this same route.
