That could be the problem right there. That's what he's using and somebody else told him that they don't feed or load right in their older guns

Lever evolution is not kind to the oldies. You can get a new follower relatively cheaply. Performance is not great with that ammo in my .35

Hammer n a punch should get em to go in![emoji16]
I'm kidding, seriously, don't try that!
Mine holds 5+1 and I use leverrevolution in it. Sometimes the lever will pop open and it won't load til you close it back up. But other than that I have no issues loading it. As others have said, I would look for an obstruction.

He brought it over earlier today and I took the magazine tube/spring apart. Everything seems to be in working order.

But this part where you feed the rounds doesn't seem to be under enough tension. Kinda weak/sloppy. When you depress it it doesn't pop back up flush or strong like it should

You should be able to find a new follower the dimpled one they are usually orange plastic install it and you should be good to go. You can also dimple the existing follower but to get a good dimple in it is hard to do without bending it out of round.

There is a small screw on the right side of the receiver, about 1.5 inches behind the loading port. Tighten that screw and it will fix the issue 👍

I have an older Marlin. It holds 6+1

It's broken. Completely useless and borderline a hazard to shoot. As a favor I will take it off his hands for $20 and cover shipping.

Well look at you being all gunsmithy and stuff. That tightened up the feed port for sure. I was able to load 5 + 1 with the leverevolution ammo if I feed it carefully. I told him to order that dimpled follower if he's gonna stick to this ammo. Maybe it will help.

Go knock on the door of Ranger Point Precision in Cypress and ask Adam. Glad to hear its fixed though. You don’t have to change the follower if you load a regular round first.

Gunsmithy? Is that really even a word?

I’m glad I could be of assistance. That tube should hold 6 rounds if it is a full length tube on a 20 inch barrel
