For $145, you can have a threaded barrel. 10/22 barrel changes are pieces of cake.

It really is the best/easiest/cheapest option if your barrel isn't threaded.
#1 The bore is seldom in the exact middle of the barrel. That's why when a barrel is threaded an indicator rod is placed inside the barrel and then dialed in. The outside of the barrel is not used to indicate.

#2 Anything that slips over the barrel is going to have concentricity problems. Especially when you use a single set screw to secure the mickey mouse object you are trying to attach.

Well hot diggidy dog. Someone is feeling froggy haha so I’ll jump back .

I won’t argue any of what you just said bc it’s not wrong. In fact you are very much correct, it’s the best way to do it. Don’t think anyone would say different.

With that said as an alternative several companies did the R&D on an adapter that goes over the end and I personally have prob 1-2k ish rounds through it and there are no issues. Is it the absolute best way…no. Does it work great and have no issues to the point several companies sell it with virtually no negative reviews…yes.

            Some stuff isn’t for everyone

              It’s all good!

I checked the reviews on Midway. 2.5 isn’t a great review!

Let's not argue I did order the adaptor and if I don't like it, I will get the barrel threaded.

                    Thanks
I threaded my 7mag Tikka T3 lite barrel 1/2x28. Can't do 5/8x24 as there was not enough meat on the barrel. But, no problem for me since I run the Sig SRD quick disconnect can. Just put a 1/2x28 mount on it.
