    6.8 results?

Really like this round but haven't hunted with my 6.8 yet, but am looking forward to harvesting some hogs this winter. I saw a thread on 6.5 G and was wondering what results you've had with your 6.8, how far and what ammo do use hunting?
    Thanks

With that cartridge you won’t be harvesting anything but you in Fact will be Killing!

      Love it.
Been using it almost exclusively around the house for the last 8 yrs or so.
Shoot mostly Barnes, but have taken a few deer with it(inside 50 yrds), using Hornady SST and it's devastating, like right now dead.
The Barnes blow through hogs with ease.
      200 yrd cartridge.
      All of its relative.

Nosler Accubonds, Barnes TTSX and Federal fusion have all killed deer and pigs

I hunt hogs and coyotes exclusively with my 6.8s. Federal Fusion shoots very well in both my ARs. Strangely enough, the barrels are from different makers but Fusions and Remington both group well and almost to the same point of aim at 100 yd. I’ve also killed two axis does with it. One shot kills all. While I don’t hunt deer with it, I would be completely confident to use it for deer if I needed to.

I use mine for deer and hogs. I shoot the 110s and 120s. It does great.

The 110gr Hornady Vmax (Hornady Black) is straight up dirty on deer and pigs. It’s a helluva combo.

Hornady Black is deadly on pretty much anything. My daughter has killed 5 deer with mine and I've shot more hogs and coyotes than I can count plus quite a few deer. Nothing makes it far and have had awesome blood trails.

Without lungs, heart, blood, or brains animals die. The 6.8 will take any four out of the equation just like most rifle rounds.

110gr Accubonds out of my 16" AR.
I have taken down pigs, deer and a nilgai bull....none of which required tracking.
All shots have been within 150yds.

I have a IR Hunter Mark III 60MM Thermal on mine and have been shooting hogs with it since 2016. 99% of the shots taken have been from the back fence of the farm house down to the feeder at a distance of 200 yards. ~90% have been DRT kills...didn't take a step. I love this little round!!! OTC Remington 115gn fmj.

Fun to shoot. My best accuracy @ 100yds is with SPH 110gr bullets that Sierra doesn't seem to make anymore.

My son hit a 125ish pound pig on a running away shot a few years ago. 198 paces, factory SST bullet (don't remember what grain). He hit just right of the anus, and the bullet exited just forward of the left shoulder. Stem to stern (or would it be stern to stem?) penetration. Right ham, both straps, and left shoulder were useless for meat. We kept the left ham and right shoulder.
