It depends. My wife's 725 was cut, bent and had an adjustable comb. A good Smith can make the gun fit shirt of being cut off beforehand.
My son started sporting clays on an auto that wasn't fit. Then we went skb that has adjustable comb and a but pad that will take drop and cast. He's on a blaser f3 now with comb only.
Also in my opinion, briley is a good place to shop and look. I could never recommend them for a fit. Ever. Before my son graduated We shot NSCA events 2 or 3 times a month. I don't recall anyone mentioning using briley for a fit. Guy's I know shooting 2500 dollar stocks on guns costing 30k use the same guy
OP...ATA is worth a look. The guys at coles gunsmithing claim a lot of the parts exchange with beretta.....

Briley is a good place to fondle several higher end guns and get an idea of what fits you. I don't know that they do actual fitting there vs more general gunsmithing. I would talk with the range managers are Greater Houston Gun Club, Houston Shooting Center, or the shooting complex on the west side of SA. They will all have smiths they can refer you to for custom fits but as a casual shooter you likely don't need to worry about that. Just find you a gun that fits you well with the finish you like.
If you look at Cesar's and like them but don't want to spend that much, look into the Fabarm brand. Fabarm is owned by CG but are a little more cost effective than CG albeit not a premium of a finish. Still great guns.
On your question about barrel length, 30" and 32" swing just fine for me in the field. If you are used to shooting a duck gun, go with a longer O/U and it will swing more naturally for you. The O/U receiver is shorter than the semi so an O/U with a longer barrel will feel more similar to the semi and the extra weight helps me swings smoother.
I assumed a 30” would be a little harder to swing and get on a covey of quail compared to a 28” barrel. But I have found that I tend to shoot a little better with a heavier gun. I didn’t do too bad the last time I shot skeet ( half circle with 2 shooting houses). Figured I’d explain what I meant. Lol. Went 17 of 25 and then 22 of 25 the next round so I can’t complain swing as how I have only shot one other time in 4 years. I don’t shoot much Bc, well, I tend to get a funny look from at least one person when I pull out a camp dipped SBEii with a sling on it. Although, I did out shoot everyone at carters country last time.

Generally speaking, quail only guys shoot shorter guns, but some of that is personal preference. But, you are looking at one gun to shoot everything so it will not be perfect for everything.
Longer barrels tend to promote follow through from momentum. That is advantageous in dove hunting, sporting clays, and to some extent skeet. If you are quick enough (which only takes practice, imo) the longer barrels won't be a problem shooting quail or pheasant. I don't think it really matters in decoying ducks.
Nothing wrong with Beretta. If it is going to be a once in a lifetime purchase I wouldn’t be buying a Beretta though. I’d start with a Caesar Guerini and go up from there. I have an Invictus III and it is a fine shotgun.
When it come to gauge they all shoot the same size pellets at the same velocity. The lower gauge numbers just send more shot. 28g shells cost a sheet ton more than 12g too.
All of that being said….unless you plan on shooting 5000 plus rounds a year go get you a Yildez. If you aren’t really good (98-100 consistently) you are only buying an expensive gun because you want one….and there is nothing wrong with that.

Yeah, so, part of going higher end is Bc it’s a once in a lifetime purchase. Kind of a treat to myself. And when it comes to guns and hunting stuff, I typically buy really nice stuff Bc I don’t have to worry about replacing it for a long time of ever. And I’ve always wanted a beautiful classic over and under. Great news is the higher end ones hold the value extremely well
I prefer a 12 when shooting birds. Needed? No. But by God when those stupid dove fly high I’ll miss em with more pellets than a 20!
Someday I’ll get me a high end really pretty OU. My 725 is nice but not my version of high end.
If this is a one and done deal go to the Beretta gallery or Gordy and Sons. Save longer and buy exactly what you want. The browning grade 7 is very nice as are the Ceasars.
30” abs 32” ou is still shorter overall than a 28” semi so the swing is fine. I like the added weight and the longer barrels just fit me better, my profile and what I’m used to looking at with my gas guns.

Nothing wrong with wanting and buying a nice O/U. If it’s a one in a lifetime purchase buy a good one. I shoot a Caesar but the Blaser F-16 is a nice gun also.
Just realize that 99.9% of people can’t outshoot a Yildez.
Some good advice on here. Some great shotguns shown. I'm not much of a shotgunner so I'm satisfied with my Ithaca SKB 500. 20 ga, 26" barrels bored improved cylinder and modified. I bought it new in 1969 and its never let me down.

Great point on comparing to semi. I shoot a 28” semi

I completely understand not being able to outshoot a shotgun. Lol. It’s more of an heirloom piece for down the road. Something to hopefully teach a kid to shoot on and pass it along years down the road.

And I bet 99.9 posting replies aren't shooting 80s much less 90s like they claim. Lol
I don't have a problem with the 20 yildez we have but that's definitely not a heirloom piece.
Op, there is a Z gun in the classifieds that's not a bad deal
