    6.5 Grendel Twist Rates

have a spare lower and am looking at getting into the grendels - what twist rate barrel have yall had success with?

Mine is 1 in 8. I have only shot and only intend to shoot 123gr ssts. Don't try to fix what isn't broken.

Email alexander arms and ask them about twist rates. Can't remember specifics but they have different twist rates as related to barrel length, not necessarily bullet length.

Have a 22'' Radical Arms upper with 1:8. I shoot 123 Hornady black thru mine and its very accurate!

1:8 is what I run on my 12.5" SBR. I shoot Factory Hornady 123 SSTs.

I think mine is a 1:8 Odin, very accurate shooting the Hornady Black. Might actually be up for sale soon.

I would say 1 in 8, after all of the reading I have done on 6.5mm and various bullets, I considered for my 6.5 Creedmoor. For around a 120 gr. 6.5 mm bullet, 1 in 8 should be a very good choice.

That makes no sense at all.

I may be mistaken Mike. It was about 6 or 7 years ago when I bought an upper from them. They had some different twist barrels and when I asked why I'm pretty sure they said their longer barrels had 1 in 9 twist vs 1 in 8 in their shorter barrels. I figured Bill Alexander knows the grendel as good as anyone. And after reflecting back I'm sure that my 20" is 1 in 9 instead of 1 in 8.
