Suppressor POI question

I finally got my YHM suppressor out of jail. Went to site it in on my Savage ultralight with the proof research barrel. It shot about 3.5” low. Adjusted it on the 3rd shot and it was close to where I wanted it. Next shot was 2” high following shot was about 4” high. Carbon barrel was not hot. Suppressor was hot of course by then. Does heat affect POI on the suppressor?

In short, no, a hot suppressor shouldn’t affect your POI shot to shot. Hanging a can on the end of a barrel can certainly change your initial POI but it should be repeatable regardless of how hot (or cold, for that matter) it gets.

Can loosened up would be my bet. I would double check it was tight next time you go shoot it. And then after a few rounds check it again.
