Anyone shot or at least put their hands on savage’s carbon fiber barreled ultralight rifle? What were your thoughts?

Handled one just cause I’m a savage fan. I don’t care for their new stocks as I think they’re hideous but I understand their reasoning for putting out a custom fitting stock for every owner. The barrel is a Proof Research barrel. If I had the money to blow I’d probably have 2 or 3 already.

I have one in 300wsm. The stocks are hideous but they work. Shoots great love the light weight toped with a HD LHT.

I know 2 buddies that have bought 2-3 of these rifles. I have shot the 308, 6.5 and one in 270 wsm. For the money I think they are solid. I agree on the stock not being the best.. but for a few more dollars you can find a Rideline and get a better bang for your buck in my opinion.

I’ve had one for a while. Don’t have a scope on it yet. Trying to save up for a lightweight scope. So I haven’t shot the gun but like everything else about it

Well I picked up my ultralite. It weighed in at 5.9 lbs bare and 7.2 lbs with my swaro 3.5-18. I sighted it in and tested a couple of loads in a 12-15 mph wind Saturday. I was very pleased with the Hornady sst.

I wonder who makes a stock to fit those? Other than the stock It looks nice.
