    Defiance Action/Talley Scope Mounts Issue

I have an APR rifle I had built on a Defiance Tenacity action. I bought some Medium one piece Talley mounts for a Leopold VX-5HD.

I mounted the scope and the height was dead on perfect, until I tried to open the bolt… the bolt handle hits the bell of the scope and can’t open the action without hitting your scope.

I’m sure there have been others that ran into this issue, did you just order the High mounts and it fixed it, or did you do something else?

Higher rings are the answer, as there aren't many options on the Tenacity bolt handle/knob.

I went with just the original Defiant action and it doesn’t hit but man it is close, ARC low rings I believe

Do you know if the Talley one piece “Highs” will work? I couldn’t even shoot the gun with Mediums on.

It should work. Really depends on the individual scopes ocular diameter.

Interesting, I appreciate it. I have some “Highs” on order so I guess we’ll see, not real sure what to do if the “Highs” won’t work.

I know the Tenacity is a popular action and your Maverick line is built on them (or use to be), so I can’t be the only one with this issue. Seems like it would be a flaw in the Tenacity’s design if this is an issue.

Not sure if the Tenacity has exactly the same specs as the AnTi’s (or if you’d wanna go this route) but a pic rail and nightforce UL lows will fit that setup very nicely. Will accommodate a 56 mm scope up to an m24, possibly heavy varmint profile, but scope caps would most likely have to be omitted.

I have some Talley Highs on the way, if those don’t work I may see if the pic rail route helps the clearance issue. I appreciate the advice.
