Fingers crossed because I hate gun ranges

I’m on the waiting list for a gun club in Crosby and I’m really hoping I get a spot. I enjoy shooting but some of the gun ranges in Houston are just not an enjoyable place to shoot. Mainly whining about sighting in rifles and shooting out a couple hundred yards with a chrony and some handloads, but I also like to shoot my revolvers at more than 15yds and with a rest. Not too many places allow that either. I know gun clubs can have their own issues, but I’m really looking forward to being able to shoot in a less crowded, less pew-pew-pew environment.

Of all of them I have to give a thumbs up to Thunder Gun Range on 1314. They’ve always accommodated my kids and helped them have a good time when they were first starting out. The facility is nice and well maintained. Their rifle range isn’t set up really to use a chrony though.

I like Thunder Gun Range as well, for the most part, gun ranges make me nervous, too. You have no idea who you’re shooting next to.

You’ll probably have less riff-raff at a gun club but don’t think for a second that there won’t still be some numb nuts to deal with.

Thanks! I met a guy last year in Summerwood to trade some reloading components, and he told me about it. Sounds like it’s fairly low key.
