    Which scope

Looking for a new scope for my APR build this year. Love my Atacr but want something lighter. Also want illuminated reticle and high magnification. No limit on price. Been looking at the NX8 and the VX6HD. Which would you choose or is there something better?

Between the NX8 and the VX6HD, I would go with the Leupold. If you step back up to the ATACR go ATACR

No price limit strongly recommend- Kahles or Schmidt & Bender ( I used these in the Marines and own some now)

Step down from Kahles & Schmidt & Bender consider the Mark5 HD 3.6 x 18 x 44, really all the glass you need out to 1,000 yds. or if you feel you need it Mark 5 HD 5 x 25 x56

Swarovski - also makes great scopes but its easier working with Leupold or Nightforce warranties should you need it.

    Just my 2 cents

I am going to put a zero compromise on mine. Already have a Tangent Theta on another build so why not.

So the Vortex LHT is 20 oz. I have one of both the LHT and the VX6HD and have had 4 people look thru them and its split down the middle on brightness. 2 of those people being non-gun people so no bias and they took the Vortex the gun gun people took the Leupold. So take that for what you will.

March, ask Robert about my choice.

My dad has the VX6HD in 4x24-52 Firedot reticle on his APR 6.5PRC and couldn't be happier. I'm a little more budget conscious and went with VX5HD 3-15x44 on mine. I'm happy as well.

Having both, I'd choose the vx6h for predominantly hunting vs. the NX8 for dialing/range use. Happy with both scopes though.

I’d look at the Z6 Swarovski or depending on what you’re setting the rifle up for, the X5. Can get both with an illuminated reticle.

I think for either of the TBH Specials offered I’d be more weight conscious than any of the tactical style scopes offered including the NX8. I’d be looking at the VX6HD or the Swaro Z8i if budget wasn’t a concern.

I went with a Swaro Z6 for 2 years ago build and a Zeiss V6 for last years. Accidentally ordered 2 Zeiss V6’s last year so was going to use that one on this years build but missed the cutoff for ordering.

On a hunting rig I would and have go(ne) Swaro and have never regretted it.

                          1. Reticle
                          2. FFP or 2nd focal plane
                          3. Weight
                          4. Size/ type of turrets
                          5. Price

Thats how I'd pick it out. There are quite a few quality scopes on the market. Lots of good choices. Leopold are nice, NF, Kahles, S&B, Zeiss, Swaro, Revic. I'm sure there's a few more I'm missing ofcourse.

Thanks for all the info. I was leaning towards the nx8 but it seems they are not getting the best results.
