I was pretty surprised by it myself. Probably a 1 out of 100 type deal, but being it was the very first time I used it on a deer-I decided to move on.

Shot lots of deer and pigs with the 168 amax. I haven’t found a 308 that doesn’t like it.

I’ve had considerably better success out of the ELDM than the AMAX. I’ve put quite a few hogs down in the last 2 months with 80 ELDMs at varying distances with good success, and have been using 108 ELDMS for a long time before that.

That said the AMAX has performed well enough for me to not have reservations about it for hogs and deer.

I have not been impressed with ELD-M at all in 6.5g. But I am shooting at lower velocities with a 12" barrel.

I absolutely love them in my .308. Very ridiculously effective from 50-860 yards. Whitetail and pigs hate them.

I have not been impressed with ELD-M at all in 6.5g. But I am shooting at lower velocities with a 12" barrel.

I run an 18 inch on mine and it’s a hammer. 6 for 6 so far, deer and pigs. I have a buddy running a 12” but not sure if he’s been able to I’ll anything. I’ll have to give him a shout and see what he’s seeing.

I’ve had good luck with them in a .308. I’ve been shooting the 155 scenar for a few years now in the .308 and I don’t think I’ll shoot anything else. It’s also a “target” bullet, but it has been a hammer on mostly pigs.

yeah I know... but the Federal Fusions are handling the low velocity just fine. 2200ish fps

I shoot that bullet at 3000+fps out of my 300wm.
No problems on deer and hogs.

I started getting them for my 308 cause that’s all I could find at the time I wanted to save my core locks for deer.GF killed her seventh hog with the A max this evening.They are devastating on body shots they do seem to come apart on heavy bone I wouldn’t shoulder shoot a bigger deer or elk with them but if you hit em in the ribs right behind the shoulder they seem to destroy all the vitals.They seem to shoot really well we’ve practiced with them out to 300 yds

I use the ELD-M 168s out of my 308. Pretty much same animal. All animals shot this year didn’t take a stop. 2 neck shots and one high shoulder. The AMAX should do just fine.
