    Ammo storage

Looking for some ideas. Got everything in some Rubbermaid totes right now. Just wondering if anyone has a better method. Shelf, cabinet etc

Ammo cans on a shelf, preferably a rather strong shelf

I keep a lot of mine in wall cabinets in my garage that I have locked. I also have random ammo cans and boxes I use for everything that won't go in the cabinets.

When I say garage, I live in Wyoming where humidity is not an issue and during the winter months, my garage is heated at 58 degrees.

When we lived in Austin, I stored everything inside the house because of the high humidity.

A bunch of random coffee cans is what I keep mine in.

I need a better system too.

Vaccum seal it with a dessicant bag, is what I do, using commercial bags, then in totes in the garage, and various other places.
I've opened some that was 4 yrs old, and it was good as new, with no tarnish.

Ammo cans and store in a temperature controlled environment if possible. Especially shotgun shell.

Ammo cans labeled with a sharpie saying what caliber is in the can.

Gun safe these days. As much it cost to buy if you can find it and keep it locked away. Worth more than Gold now.

I have all my ammo in ammo cans marked with contents, stored inside a Walmart lockable metal gun locker. Works well. Also store accessories like scopes, ear muffs, knives etc. works well.

Sealed ammo cans in climate controlled area. I've stored for 30+ years like that and it's good.
Friend used to store his in cabinets in the garage in Texas and it wasn't long before it started to corrode.

Just a thought, but in this day and age, I wouldn't put all my eggs in one basket.
