Today I had to sight in a rifle and it was way off target. I didn't want to keep fiddling around with trying to figure out where I was hitting so I shot a big rock. To my surprise it made a loud "thwack" like I had just hit an animal. Who doesn't like that sound? I do so I adjusted my scope to where it needed to be based off of where I saw the bullet hit. I thought "Ok now put one back on the target.......actually no shoot that rock again" I'm not one to waste ammo but I shot that rock 5 more times before I had to tell myself to quit wasting ammo. Those v-max was blowing chunks of rock everywhere. If you've never shot a rock maybe give it a try someday. I promise it's fun.
I've seen metal targets that let you know when a bullet connects. Rocks are way better.
