I would think loads using Trailboss are more intended to be subsonic loads in rifle cartridges. Yes they will be reduced recoil but probably useless on anything other than targets.
You could look at data and use a starting load with the slowest burning powder recommended for a softer round. In the older manuals there were a few powders listed for reduced velocities. The names are escaping me at the moment

I have done reduced loads for kids with H4895, AA5744 and Trail boss. Prefer them in that order for Bottle neck cartridges.
