See beauty is obviously in the eye of the beholder, I don’t see any beauty in any of those stocks. Even the paint jobs look like sponge, paint. Most people don’t even use guns that cost as much as those stocks. Those are the truly beautiful ones but I’m curious if anyone here even has one in that grade

In regards to stock material, I have both. I feel like they're balanced well. My duck gun is a synthetic Beretta 390, but my field gun is a wood stock Browning Maxus. My 30-30 is a Marlin 336 (JM stamped, so decent wood stock), but my 308 and 6.5 are synthetic. My dad's Rem 1100 and 870 Wingmaster are straight up wood stock.

I'm good with both. Wood stocks are much more aesthetically pleasing, but I'm not a big fan of the laminate Boyd stocks.

The blanks are the cheap part. Finishing them out is the expensive part.
