Impressed with Ruger American 308

A few days ago my father in law asked me to buy a 1st deer rifle for my nephew. Went to able Ammo in Huntsville and the inventory was pretty low. Ended up going with a ruger American go wild in 308. I bought leupold freedom in 3x9 to go on it.

Mounted the scope this morning and went to sight it in. I boresighted it then took 2 shots at about 30 yards to get it on paper. Made a 2” adjustment down and then took it out to 100 yards. The picture below is the 3rd,4th and 5th shot from the gun for its 1st 3 round group. I was shooting 150gr Winchester power points.

My son stole my River American in 6.5 creedmoor and it is excellent shooter, clover leafs every session at range. I installed the mcarbo spring into trigger and it breaks at 2.1lbs

Probably hard to reload and beat that, that’s one he should want to hang on to.
