    Ruger M77 Tang Safety Trigger

I’ve got a old tang safety ruger that I’m planning on adjusting the trigger pull on so I’m looking for tips if anyone has any? I’ve done a few triggers but never a old red pad! Thanks in advance

Did mine earlier this year, You basically replace the spring. Can’t remember where I bought it but it was online. Take pics before you disassemble!! Those old triggers are a little different.

There are several videos on You Tube that can help guide you as well.

The other option is to replace it with an aftermarket trigger.

Timmney makes one for those rifles. Put one in years ago, but think you may have to do a little stock work to fit. Looking at it after the new one was in get some 600 and 1500 grain sandpaper on the assembly, mine had some heavy machining marks. Be careful on the trigger guard screws, that guard is potmetal and the ears will snap off from tightening, don’t ask. Brownell’s makes a steel replacement if needed.

There are several schematics on the interweb. I’ve done many of them with just stones and jewelers polish. If you take your time you can make them scary nice.

I take the sear engagement down to the bare minimum.
