Scope mounting rings uncertain

The wife got me a Leupold VX-3i 3.5-10x40 for my birthday, very happy about that. I have a ruger American 308 rifle to put it on but I've no experience with scopes and I have no idea how to mount them. I hit up the Leupold website and put in the rifle and they recommend the savage mountings in medium here. I'm ok with spending the money on it but want to be sure it is definitely the right one. Any insights? Thank you everyone.

Talley 2 piece lightweights is what I would use and probably get buy with low.

Lows easy with that scope and gun combo.

I have the same scope on a Howa 1500. I used low Talley lightweights

Something to consider is not every low,medium etc is measured the same between manufacturers.
