I drank the kool-aid and bought one. I wanted it to be all that I hoped, I just didn't see that much improvement. There was a cool factor, but wasn't a big difference for me on my gun. Maybe if I had perfect vision (20/20 or better) it would have been. I have 20/25 and gave my honest opinion of the two.
I’ve not use a Z8 but I have a Z3 and Z5 and they blow away ANY Vortex scope I have run (haven’t run the Razor), especially a Crossfire. That’s almost bottom of the barrel Vortex.

I was shooting both on the same bench at the same time at the same targets. I was shocked and a little embarrassed that his $300 scope was that close. I have scopes from $300 to $4000... I'm not a buy cheap kind of person, but i was impressed with that scope enough that i bought one and use it a lot. It wouldn't work for shooting paper because the reticle is probably 0.5 MOA thick, but it is a great little hunting scope and only cost $300!
Scopes and scope prices have gotten out of hand in the last 20 years. I have one Vortex that we love on my son's rifle, I buy Leupold for my stuff...but I rarely take my stuff to the blind anymore. I guess I need to replace my wife's Redfield 2X7 Wideview...but I can't bring myself to do it.
