    129 yr old shotgun

I really "need" a 20ga or 28ga side by side, but I ran across a cool old 12ga the other day. I couldn't pass it up.

It appears that Mr. Hubbard was hard on barrels. I don't know what ever happened to the 2nd set of twist barrels. They aren't with the gun anymore. Maybe Mr. Hubbard dented them beyond repair?

The original barrels were bored out to cylinder choke on both sides somewhere along the way. That suits me fine anyway, as I'll likely only use it for dove and quail with light loads anyway. Other than that, it doesn't appear that much has changed on the gun. Engraving is worn, but still there. A little case color still evident here and there, but not much. Cool old gun. I just couldn't pass it up.

Incredible shot gun, not sure I would shoot it with those Damascus barrels, nor would I want to scratch it. That looks to be in great shape ! Very cool gun, if only it could tell the story’s it’s been through.

Beautiful old Parker, and a quality gun. Can you imagine what $100 would have bought in those days, and how long it took for someone to make that money ? In addition to being hard on barrels, (maybe he had some hard headed bird dogs), he must have been a wealthy man.

You can still have a 28 gauge, just get some inserts from Briley and shoot away ! Good snag !

I could do tunes, but I'd rather have the smaller frame. This one is a 1 frame though, so small for a 12. It feels like a bird gun.

                            Beautiful gun!

$100 in 1891 is $2,860.22 today seems like a great value for a long as it’s lasted and the great shape it’s in.

I had to stop going to http://m.wmandco.com/ because he has so much great stuff like that in his shop

                              Careful with Damascus barrels....

Beautiful Gun! That would be great fun over a good dog and some quail!
