I feel the same way. I’ve never believed in taking more than I need.

Nope. Hunters and shooters are idiots when it comes to freaking out and panic buying.

Even if trump wins I bet it’s a 12-18 month wait for prices to someone return to normal

You know most rifle hunters will have a box of ammo last them several years between three shots to confirm zero maybe two to three shots during the season then back in the safe till November

I agree with the first part of your statement about everything going back to normal (providing Trump wins) and people buying it out without intent. The problem is: "what if Biden wins?"

But, if you shoot one 50 round box every two weeks through your personal carry piece (9mm for instance), how many rounds it that in a year? 50 x 26 = 1,300 rounds per year . Also, if you shoot competitively, how many rounds per match/event is that? And what about "3-gun" competitive events where it takes 3 different arms to compete? Plus you have to practice for said events. That takes a lil more than the 50 round box once every two weeks . And what about the persons who shoot almost every day? And everybody knows it's cheaper to buy in bulk. Come on man, think.

Do you dove hunt much? If so, do you buy a "case" of ammo...uh...I mean dove loads? That's only 10 boxes per case. And the average Texas dove hunter uses 5-7 shots per bird. Now, if you shot two boxes per outing, and went 5 times total through the season, that's a "case" of ammo right there.

For someone who owns a single hunting rifle that might use it once or 3 times a year, your statement might be legit about owning a box or two. But there are a lot more shooters out there who use a heck of a lot more than just a common off the shelf rifle that gets used 1-3 times a year.

.22 owners who have kids let them shoot a lot. Much less the adults who typically shoot over 100 rounds per outing.

There are plenty of reasons to buy large quantities, or any that may be available. Shooting for many is a hobby/pastime. Just look at the number of shooters in this forum alone who shoot every weekend. And how many different rifles they shoot .

I don’t see a problem with people buying and holding thousands of rounds. Many people end up buying it at a time when there’s a large supply. And many buy online.

No way will I pay the kind of prices that I've seen lately. Tempted to sell some of what I have.

For real .18/.19 cents per round for loose box .22 is crazy.
A few years ago I was getting brass 9mm for That price.

You could just reload. You end up having less fear of short supplies usually, but end up being that dude picking up brass.

Its probably a bit late for this option now.

Reloading is even tough with primers and powder in short supply

I haven't seen primers in a bit, but we've got a decent supply of powder in Midland.
