New Rifle Buy

I’ve been hunting since I was 16, now 37. Have mainly bow hunted the entire time and back home it was shot gun only. I had a POS Remington 770 .243 that I sold a few years ago and looking to get in to rifle hunting a little more. Just ordered a Browing X-Bolt Stainless Stalker 7mm-08 and a Trijicon Huron 3-12x40 Scope.

Will post pics once they are in and mounted. Time to save up for the .300 win mag now. Really wanting to go out west to do some elk hunting.

Sounds like a pretty good set up 7mm-08 is a great deer round

7mm-08 will kill an elk with the proper bullet.

I'm going to finally get out west for an elk hunt over the next 2 years. I recently got an xBolt hells canyon 300win.. I gotta say, it's a heck of a rifle and first groups at the range were under an inch and I expect that to dial in even more

Nice! I second that the 7-08 is adequate for elk. A 140g Barnes or Accubond will do the trick
