    6.5 Grendel case

New 6.5 Grendel shot about 10 times. Any ideas on what is causing the ding in these cases?

No expert but seems like the cases are hitting the upper on the way out. Someone smarter than me will know. My guess is BCG issue or gas system issue

When the case is ejected. Either pressure or maybe the extraction claw has a hard bite and won't release easy.

Try messing with gas block. Or make sure casings aren’t hitting anything

that dent is being caused after the round is fired ,, take a small piece of mole skin and stick it across the shell deflector at the back of the receiver opening,,, chances are that will take care of it

usually a dent caused by the deflector is a little larger than that but it does cause a lot of dented brass in about that location

This is a side charger and doesn't have the reg looking deflector, mater of fact it doesn't look like it has one at all, it's smooth sided but I will put mole skin on the little part of the receiver that looks like could be causing the dent. Tkx

It’s likely hitting the back of the ejection port.

This right here. Won't hurt anything. You can try an adjustable gas block if it bothers you though.

Where in relation to the rifle position is the brass landing after it is ejected? It should be about 90 degrees from the ejection port. In front of the shooter, overgassed. Behind, undergassed. Gas port can be opened up and an adjustable gas block installed for under. Just an adjustable gas block for over. My guess is over gassed from the look of the brass dents.

Most Grendels tend to be over gassed.
