    ASR mount vs direct thread?

I run a silencerco hybrid 46 on several host from .17-458 socom currently I’m using direct thread which is kinda a pain switching end caps and thread caps.
I’m considering buying the ASR mount and muzzle devices for all my rifles. I know this will be pricey but i also plan on another can in the future that shares the same mount.

Anyone have any input on ASR mounts vs direct thread? I’ve heard some horror stories about them not being locked all the way and the can launches off the host. Just looking for a solid opinion.

Did you notice with the break installed of the felt recoil was less or the same? How about noise reduction?

I just switched all my ASR mounts to Dead Air mounts. To me it seems much more secure and very easy to get on and off. They are hard to find but well worth it in my opinion

I dislike the ASR Mount with a prettt good passion. That’s my biggest complaint with SilencerCo cans. I’ve got a can in my safe I haven’t shot since 2013 because of that mount.

I’m not familiar with the Hybrid 46 as to if anyone makes a replacement mount for them. If so, I’d highly recommend it. Dead Air, Area 419, Griffin.

Theres much better QD mount options available than the ASR.

If all your rifles are threaded, then DT is the way to go. I love my DT cans

          Easy and cheaper

I prefer direct thread. Only other mount system I use is on 2 rifles and it’s an ASR. They’ve been on those guns for a long time. I’m going to run my nomad direct thread.

Is there a lock on the dead air mount? Can you mount the suppressor under a hand guard with that mount?

QD is the business-- not familiar with the ASR system. I use Rugged's and it is bombproof.

You cannot use it under a guard. You have to have access to the collar.

I use both, i have ASR on most of my AR style rifles and DT on my bolt guns. Make sure the ASR is tight and locked down all the way.

I prefer DT. Adding a ASR mount adds weight and length. Also if you don't have the ASR mount locked just right your can will go flying down range with major damage.

I run asr mounts on all my rifles I shoot my omega with.. never had a problem just make sure its tight and lock it down.. I don't have a problem using DT but i had to have a thread adapter 1/2 to 5/8 for the ar.. Didn't like that so i went with the Asr to accommodate all my rifles. I swap the omega around 3 rifles all with Asr mounts

Off topic but a testament to how tough a specwar is.

My brother didn’t have his tight. Let loose a mag with an M16. Launched the can. A bullet hit the side of the tube and didn’t even dent it! Lol.
