    How BAT actions are made

and now you know the rest of the story

for close to 30 years, BAT actions have always been considered one of the best in the business.

Insanely precise tolerances that produce super accurate rifles.

Running a BAT Model L on the big gun. It's a work of art, and an absolute bank vault that takes way more abuse than it should My only complaint........and it's on me, not BAT is that it probably wasn't the best choice for a prone gun that kicks up that much debris. Those super tight tolerances don't like dirt.....at all. It especially doesn't like the fine volcanic sand that I fed it at Whittington Center! LOL. Galled both lugs pretty good on that one. I don't think it gets any better than BAT for a bench gun.

That Sodick is pretty cool . First time I've seen one of those. Nice to see some quality work going in there. And that .000000" carry out.

I've spent some time welding 4140 before, as well as 4130, and 4120. Got to bring the material up to a specific temp before welding. It was some very thick heavy stuff too. Usually followed by magnafluxing for inspection. (1990s oil and gas products)

Robert, I’ll get the EDM on the way. The other goodies are covered so let’s talk!

yuuuup, Bruce's actions are perfect for the BR game when shooting off the bench. Shooting in windy, dusty conditions or laying prone with the barrel 10" off the ground ain't good.

I've got a 4-axis, that can be converted to a 5 sitting idle on the floor right now. Back up to the 2nd bay door and we'll get that EDM unloaded
