Is it time to stop shooting?

With the price of ammo, is it time to stop shooting?

With ammo hitting record highs, is it time to stop hitting the range? I think we’re down to 1,200-1,400 rounds of 9X19, 400-500 rounds of 9x18, 200ish rounds of 45, and 400-500 Rounds of our rifle rounds. I’m thinking it is time for a short hiatus in combustion....

it is getting too expensive to replace at this point, and I’m worried we are running low for a bugaloo. Granted, I know a person at a place (at which we are expected to fall back to) that has MUCH more than we do, but still... it’s looking like the dems are planning to cause a prolonged outcome to the electoral results, and I figure that may cause a bit of an expenditure in rounds. So.. do we stop shooting, stop buying and shooting, stop shooting and start buying, or start singing Kumbaya?

If I have to go to war it's going to be with .22lr and birdshot

I dislike "hoarding" things but I've seen the error in my ways this year.

Lotta people might not have much ammo.
If it comes down to it, my ammo is available for anyone fighting the same fight.

I may have plenty. I may not. I do have some for calibers I dont own anymore.

As mentioned, one could carry thousands of .22 for what 500 5.56 or 12ga weigh

I get this way of thinking but honestly, I don’t plan to run so no need in having to carry. I have several neighbors that are like minded.

I only shoot stuff that needs killin and I'll use bird shot out of a shotgun or shoot it with a rimfire if I can. Or better yet smack it over the head with somethin when possible. I don't mind shootin stuff when ammo is readily available and cheap but when it ain't I won't if I can get around it.

Hoarding during low demand times is good for buyer, good for seller, and great for procrastinators that didn't buy in times like today. Just imagine if no one "hoarded" when prices were cheap. You'd have millions more people creating a lot more demand than there already is!

And I don't plan to run around with it. But what if ammo stays super hard to buy for the next 5 years or 10 years? Or the Dems get in and add that monster tax. Why not stock up when it's cheap?

So, your plan is to be a refugee and on the run? Not a good plan. When the SHTF, your home is the best place to hunker down. Plan B would be another shelter you could get to easily if your home gets compromised. Ideally, the shelter is supplied with food, water, ammo and guns. If you are able to drive, what does it matter how much it weighs. Since you are concerned about weight, let me ask you how much food and water can you carry?

                        This
Plan is to dig in if necessary so it’s not always about what you can carry.

Those people aren’t having to ask when it’s time to stop shooting either.

That's not what I said at all. I mentioned it would be heavy to carry. Loosen the straps on you armadillo shell helmet
