    Shooting lead in 9mm. Glock/Sig

Is anyone shoot lead through there Glock/ Sig? I have heard it was not a issues if you clean barrel every 200 rounds. Also what powder are y'all running?

I’m pretty certain shooting lead through a Glock barrel is a no no. I’m shot a lot of lead through my other 9 mm. You just need to keep the velocity down. My preferred 9 mm powders are bullseye or unique.

I’ve put 20k or so lead bullets through Glocks. No problems with excessive leading.

      BUT

I did have some issues with tumbling in my G19. Probably could have gone up 2 thousandths and cured the issue but I never cared that much.

I want to say they don’t recommend it in the 10mm but I could also be completely wrong.

Huh? Is that specific to the 10mm or just a generic statement?

I know it will be hard to find components. I also hope I can find copper plated bullets

                  Across all guns really.

It’s just funny that folks latched on to the “shooting lead bullets bad” statement in the Glock owners manual.

Is it in all the manuals? I thought it was specific to the 10mm, guess I should have clarified.

Google powder coated bullets. Like cast lead bullets, the velocity needs to be reduced, but apparently the powder coating is enough to significantly reduce leading. For plinking and weapons handling drills, they may fit the bill.

                        Sounds like a plan. Thanks

It’s the polygonal rifling in the Glock that might sometimes maybe cause a problem.

That’s about all I shoot in pistols. I cast and coat them myself. Much better than lead with lube.

I would not be hesitant to get some these and have them sized to .356 for the 9mm. Gas checks with heavier bullet should shoot straight. Bnh 15 hardness is good and should not lead up plus the copper gas check will scrape the lands down somewhat on each shot. https://www.mattsbullets.com/index.p...r32en8e327lpj6
