    Sig Sauer BDX system

I'm looking for any input, good, bad, or indifferent. I'm thinking of purchasing the Sierra 3 BDX 6.5-20x52 along with the Kilo 1600BDX, Bass Pro has a pretty good deal on them right now.

I know it works really well for extended range crossbow shooting

From what I have read and been told, they work very well. Search threads on this site. There was a guy who responded to a older thread about them. I don't remember if I started the thread or if it was someone else. I had been reading up on them at the time of the thread, so I may have started, it or just a coincidence, that I was reading about them when the thread was created.

I don't know anything about it but I am looking for a scope for a rifle I bought and everyone has the BDX systems on sale it looks like.

I was guessing the new models will be a little different

I don;t think my Sig rangefinder is compatible though

I've got the system mounted on my CA Mesa in 6.5 PRC and it works very well from what little time I've spent with it. I set it up using the 147 ELD-M ammo initially and after some initial consternation I was hitting a rock at 660 yards. I was initially hitting about 2 feet low and once adjusted it was dead on. What I had not done correctly was the velocity calibration test that Sig recommends. Basically, that is shooting at the farthest distance you think you'll shoot and then measure how far impact was from the bullseye. Enter that distance into the app on your phone and it adjusts your muzzle velocity automatically.

I like the system, but I haven't had enough time at the lease with it to get the velocity calibration done for my hand loads. I don't have access to a long distance range at this time, so I plan on rechecking my velocity with the chronograph and then the velocity calibration test the next time I'm at the lease. I'll probably use 400 or 500 yards for my calibration.

The reticle on the scope is a little different than the usual duplex reticle. It's thicker than most duplexes, even at the crossing point because they have to get all of the led's in the cross-hairs. The scope has auto level led's that will tell you if you're canted left or right as well.

I killed a couple of feral barbado sheep last year with the rifle, but didn't have enough time to use the system. Once I get it all set up I plan on using it for long range shots at these sheep that keep showing up and pigs. We've got some really big canyons that I can sit on the rim and glass from.
