    Beretta A400 guys

I just ordered a new A400. What have you guys done to them to make better if anything? I was shooting a Benelli SBE3 and didn't like it near as much as my SBE2. I had to shim the stock and still couldn't hit with it if I didn't shoot it all the time. I've seen that Briley makes replacement bolt knobs, bolt release, weighted caps and extended mags. I'm definitely getting an extended mag for coyote hunts either Briley's or Nordic components. TIA

I pull mine out the boxes and shoot them haha. My brother trains duck dogs and sponsored with beretta so gets pretty good deals on guns I get a new one every other year. They fit me well and I love them only thing I’ve done to mine was the brileys extended mags for goose season but we duck goose hunt a lot in south Louisiana. Sweet shooting guns

I wouldn't change a thing about them except maybe the weight. One of the clear advantages of the inertia driven Benelli's is the weight savings.

In my experience they're more reliable compared to Benelli's. I have a Extrema A350 which is the A400 without the stock and "water proof" coating. Same internals etc. I love it. My duck hunting buddy has a couple of A400's that I've hunted with as well as super black eagles. My number one thing is reliability. If I pay 1k plus for a shotgun it better run any shell I throw into it. The Beretta's will run 3.5" steel all the way to cheap low brass 2 3/4 winchester dove loads.

I have a A400 Xtreme 12 and a A400 Xplor 20 and both were more than ready straight out of the box. I did add a larger bolt release button and bolt knob on the 12 gauge but think that comes standard on the Newer A400 duck guns now. Mine was a few years before that. But yea, zero complaints here. The A400 Xplor 20 gauge is probably my favorite shotgun I've ever owned. Super light, smooth and dependable. Love them both. Running Muller Chokes in both and they pattern great.

All those parts you mentioned from Briley will not help the accuracy issue. Practice is the only way.

I've heard of others with similar issues on SBE 3 with the point of aim or compensation or something like that. Think Benelli did something different on the SBE3 but can't remember off the top.

Yes, several guys told me to send it back to Benelli and have it fixed. Obviously I never did, LOL. Good excuse to buy a new gun.

No chit!! I just have a bad habit of spending money on (upgrades). A buddy of mine has the A400 and his release and knob are plastic.

have the same problem with an A400 xtreme, it patterns high left with most ammo.
but i have found two different loads that it shoots dead on with, so i just make it a point to make sure i have these loads.

What choke are you using. You're the first I've heard or read about having a point of impact issue with the A400.

it has shot the best with the stock modified, i have a Pattern Master for it also, but the modified Beretta optima mod. has had the best patterns for me

Like Fmjag64, I have both a 32" Excel (blue receiver) 12ga and a Explor 20ga. Both fit good out of the box for me but needed a little more forward weight with the 20ga. Added Briley releases and knobs on both along with a few oz of weight on the 20ga. The blue Excel is my go to gun these days unless everyone around is shooting two barrels.

I picked up an A400 Plus last Sept. Does that count? Haven't shot it yet. Not even to break it in. Was going to last season. But got tied up in a project. And didn't get to hunt all season. I don't like shooting clays or targets. I like putting something on the table if I'm gonna shoot. Clay is kinda hard on my teeth.

So, to cure the "break-in", I gotta dove lease this year. Hope it gets good a broke in by waterfowl time. I don't do the teal thing either. I just wait till it gets cooler. Dove season is hard enough on me with the heat.

I got mine at Briley and they tuned/adjusted the stock to me. Mine is stock.
