i shoot ALOT of rounds every year...all with Browning 725's...they will last you a lifetime with care and simple maintenance
Beretta is a nice gun, but honestly at 2-3k you can buy way more Browning than you can Beretta.
      Thats my $.02

The browning CXS felt good and so did the beretta 690’s. Chk our Joel etchen guns. They have some nice used guns too.

I recently bought a 686 here on TBH. One of the happiest days of my life. I’ve wanted a o/u for more than 20 years.

I’ve visited the Beretta Gallery in Dallas a few times. It’s a really amazing store.

They have a room full of shotguns that are in ascending order of price from one side to another. Get friendly with an associate, and they’ll let you hold any of them. It’s pretty freakin cool.

I shot a few Browning’s at sporting clay shoots, I’ve been fortunate to be surrounded by other folks who have fancy shotguns, and generously let me shoot them.

I also have a 686 and love it. Like said above, what fits for one, doesn't necessarily fit for another. If you're familiar with shotguns, you know that you can shoulder a gun and know if you will shoot it well just by how it meets your cheek. I can't shoot a browning worth a dern, but shoot the Beretta very well. These are the only 2 brands I can speak to in over/unders.

Not all guns will fit the same. I shot a browning for several years and could never get a beretta to fit right. I could have spent some money and got it right but then I could step up and buy a better gun for sporting clays. I eventually bought a Blaser F3 and now a Krieghoff K-80. Try as many as you can until you find the right fit.

I am a Browning guy. Own several. Nothing wrong with Berettas, just don't like the fit /feel. Lol at Caesar Guerini. You can find some gently used CG's in your price range.

I've traded with Joel Etchen Guns. They are hard to beat on pricing and can ship. They sell all major brands. I've got one of their all around guns and very pleased with it. Good luck!

I have three 686s in 12, 20, and 28ga. the biggest mistake I ever made was shooting one in a sporting clays tournament when my 1100 malfunctioned. After that the hunt was on. I just wish they made it in a 16ga. I will probably have a set of 410 barrels fitted to the 28 frame.

Berretas fit me better when I've shot them

But I shoot a beat up citori as my dove/duck gun and it swings well too, just way heavier and slower

If nothings close for ypu to be able to hold them, a trip to the metromess maybe up your alley. Scheels is amazing. New store, tons of inventory very nice guns, very nice. Then of course bass pro and cabelas. Between those 3 you should be able to lay your hands on about any over under you would be looking at.

Look up Briley in Houston, bit of a drive but they have all the shotguns your looking for in the showroom.

See if you can find a used Caesar Guerini in your price range. Great gun and fit me well.

Silver Pigeon is nice, also check out the 693. Whatever you get be sure it fits you, don't just purchase a brand or specific model.

If you're going to be shooting more clays a sporting model will be a bit heavier for recoil, if more for hunting use go with a field model.
