    Leupold vx 5hd cap size?

Need caps for a 3-15x44 and prefer butler creek unless theres a better option thats not 60 bucks each.

What size or brand do you like?

    My vx6 44mm is 53mm outside which is a 34 cap.

I’ve never liked the butler creek style caps.

I went to the Alumina covers years ago and have never looked back. But as you know they aren’t cheap.

If you spend the $$ on a nice optic, what’s another $100 to protect it?

The Objective end will be size 33-34, part number 33334. The Eye end will be a little loose because it is an odd size, 1 wrap of black electric tape and no one will know but everyone on TBH. Eye size 16-17-18, part number 21618. These are the multiflex scope covers.

I have that exact scope and measured it for you and have the Butler Creek covers in my hand.

Like Mike D, I have the Leupold caps.

I agree. Especially since its mounted to an APR. But, in this scenario I can't see the get what you pay for need to the aluminum. I may shop around some to see what I find

          Thanks gents

May just order a bikini cover for it and be done with it. Easy enough to put on and off cheap and works well. This is what I use on most of my scopes.

covid mask and a ponytail band on each end. It's how I roll now in the covid era.

I prefer the aluminum for several reasons.

They thread in so they won’t come off unless you want them to. They won’t leave any residue or wear marks on your scope, they fold flat against the top of the scope and they can be rotated to flip open in any position easily.

And they don’t look like a cheap after thought. [emoji51]

You probably did. They may use them on the Freedom series scopes.

Alumina only for me, why stop at $4k when you could spend $4.1k?

I agree with everything about them coming off. I lost one on a hunt and was shocked, but overall not sure how it happened as they take a minute to install. I still get them and love the fact that they lay flat.
