    Suppressor and barrel length

I bought a rem 700 adl in .243 a couple of months ago, it’s a sub moa gun. I am thinking of cutting the barrel down as short as possible and putting my YHM resonator on it for a varmint/hog gun. If I cut it down to 16” will the accuracy suffer?

Accuracy shouldn’t suffer if cut and recrowned correctly. I know it didn’t affect my .308 I cut down.

Factory barrels are a roll of the dice. If you happen to cut to an area with bad button chatter, flattened lands, etc. It will not shoot well.

It’s just as likely to shoot better from a proper crown as well. Like you said though “roll of the dice”.

Some factory barrels are not drilled straight through. The bore may not be concentric with the OD of the barrel. The bad thing is, the only way to find out if it is concentric is to cut it.

Most barrels are not concentric with the OD of the barrel. There’s also a handful of ways to check. You don’t have to cut it.

Cut it shoot it and see. Aftermarket remmy barrels are cheap. One thing for sure is velocity change other that that it's a crap shoot.

Yep, and 6mm loses a lot of velocity per inch at those lengths.
