Spotting scope vs long range camera?

Looking to purchase one of these pretty soon, just not sure which one. I understand that I could use the scope in the stand and walking in the field, but i'm worried about what I would need to spend to see 600yd+ easily. What are your thoughts, if you could only get one? I will probably end up with both down the road(because they really are two different tools), but for now......?

I have an Anthon Ares and spot deer out to well over a mile. I doubt you could do that with a camera but who knows

No question, a spotter. You can’t really do any spotting/glassing with a camera that I’m aware of. If it’s just pictures of larger objects such as animals you want, there’s a deal called a phone skope. allows you to take quality pics and video through a spotter.
