    Value help

Need some help for the GS experts—I am planning on listing this gun in the classifieds but no idea a fair value. It is a Thompson Center 7-30 Waters with Leupold base and a 3x9 Burris scope. I have a set of reloading dies and a couple boxes of ammo I would throw in.

I would say it is a 7 out of 10 with spots on the trigger guard and tip of barrel

    Thanks in advance

Great round love contenders pics don’t tell much about the.scope (rifle or pistol scope) $600 or so a pistol scope will add value for most buyers

Great hunting pistol, my 7-30 is my go to pistol for deer. $500-$600, can't tell if it's a rifle or pistol scope, pistol would be better. If you have the wood forend I would put it on for the pictures. Contenders tend to have a smaller following, may take a little longer to sell but great guns.

I have no idea on the price. I bought mine several years ago and don't remember what I paid. I just wanted to say that is a great round. I've taken many deer with mine. Good luck with the sale.

The Contender parts, such as a wood forearm are not hard to find. The last time I was going to gun shows on a regular basis, there were two guys that had lots of Contender parts one, had been only a Contender dealer for a long time. But I know both of the Contender dealers were trying to sell off all of their Contender stuff, the one who specialized in Contenders was getting out of the business, the other was a gun dealer with lots of Contender parts and was trying to get rid of all of the Contender parts, but continue to deal with other guns. Not sure if the market for Contender parts has dropped off that much or if that one guy just did not care to learn all of the Contender parts and values.
Not sure what length that barrel is, almost looks like a 10" or 12" barrel with a brake. Typically the 7X30 Waters would be either a Super 14 or a Super 16.

Like the other guy asked, you should figure out if that scope is a pistol scope or just a rifle scope installed on a pistol. A pistol scope will have a much longer eye relief, than a rifle scope. If it's a rifle scope, you will need to hold the gun close to your face to see through the scope properly. If it's a pistol scope, you will be able to hold it the gun with your arms straight and see through the scope, where the whole lens is filled with whatever you are looking at. If it's a rifle scope you will only see a small spot in the center of the scope, when holding the gun, with your arms straight out. Burris I think may have made a 3-9X pistol scope, one of the few companies that would possibly have done so. I know they made a lot of 2-7X pistol scopes. If it is a 3-9X pistol scope, the scope is worth quite a bit more than if it's a rifle scope. Also that Leupold mount is a pretty nice mount, never had one of those, I think I have always had Weaver style bases on all of my Contenders. I have had three with Super 14 pistols barrels, then the one I have now, came with both Super 16 pistol barrels and 16" carbine barrels, I sold off all of the barrels and bought a 30-30 carbine barrel, when I got it, it had 17 HMR, 204 Ruger and 223 barrels, I got rid of those first thing and got the 30-30 barrel, that's what's been on it ever sense.

The 7X30 Waters is one of the most popular Contender calibers for hunting, very good round. At this point, figure out what the barrel length is, not including the brake and then figure out what the scope is. The pistol grip on the gun, is the better grip, I used to have two or three of those, I really like those grips, I don't like the grips they put on the G2 Contenders.
