    Rem 700 trigger?

Looking at the Timmney elite hunter or triggertech primary triggers. I have never bought an after market trigger for anything and these seem like what I’m looking for. This rifle will be my long range/hunting rifle in 308.

What says the green screen. If you have another idea for me please let me know. I’d like to keep it $200 or less. And be able to get trigger in 2# range -/+.

    Thanks y’all,
    Adam

    TT Primary or Special.

The TT Primary can be had for $140 new. The Special is $200ish. You can find the Special used for $150ish, and is worth it IMO over buying either the Timney Hunter or Primary new. If you have a side bolt release 700 I’ve got a Timney 510 I’d sell for $100. I like it a hair better than the Elite Hunter. I’ve ran Timney for a long time, but I’ve been happier with TT the last year or so.

I put a Timney in my 700. Made it a completely different gun. I don't remember exactly which one I put in, but it was sub $200. Completely worth it.

I'm running the regular old timney (not the calvin elite) in my 700's and have them at 1.8lbs, not a problem.

I’m still an old school Jewell trigger guy.

TT special is far superior to the Timney hunter.

You can pick up a Jewell for around $195 if you like a narrower profile. TT Diamond is tough to beat if you like something a little wider. Just spend the extra fifty or so...it’s worth it.

Probably a 510 if it’s a curved trigger. I put the same one on my 700 and wow, definitely an awesome upgrade for the cost.

That said, I bought a Bergara B14 HMR Pro that came with a TriggerTech Frictionless trigger and I’m definitely a fan to say the least. Shooting both rifles side by side the TT feels a bit better to me but OP won’t go wrong with either one. Both are great.

The HMR Pro comes with the TT Primary. I agree it’s a better trigger than the 510 for the same money.

I'd opt for a Timney Calvin Elite, they can be had for <$200 on Ebay.
