    Bolt action 308 Suppressed

I’m waiting on a silenerco omega 300 to come in, and am needing a host rifle. I’m ignorant when it comes to rifles, and would really appreciate some feedback on what to look at. Im favoring something along the line of a Remington 700 sps tactical or similar. It will be a fun gun/blind gun that I would like my son to be able to shoot around age 8. Weight is not important and would actually prefer a heavier gun for recoil. $2500 and under for rifle only is what I’d like to spend. Would appreciate input on rifles that would be a good fit. Thanks very much.

I have an Alamo Precision Rifles built 308 with a 16.5” barrel that I run suppressed. Absolutely the finest rifle I own. About your price point and you won’t find anything better than an APR. Considering trading it for some high end NF glass, but its a difficult decision. Might check APR out- - highly recommended.

With him wanting a little more weight I’d suggest the HMR first, but the Ridge or Ridge SP wouldn’t be a bad choice either.

Good stuff. I have a 300 on a 700sps 16.5" barrel. Love it. Two shortfalls to conscience of, 1) if you use the quick connect on the 300 make sure it is secure, ie tighten it with the included wrench 2) the internal magazine on the sps is a PIA. Have fun.

A 16 inch suppressed Rem 700 LTR is my 7 and 11 yr olds favorite gun to shoot...

Your looking for a blind fun that needs to shoot about a minute at 100 there is no need to spend 2500.

Get something like this and upgrade the stock to a chassis. You can customize a chassis to fit your kid perfectly.

This all day long. I am REALLY happy with mine.

Shoots lights out straight out of the box, no need to upgrade anything. Sub-MOA guarantee on the rifle by the manufacturer.

If you want to spend $2500 on rifle alone I say go for it. You can buy a trued Rem 700 action and have the gun builder of your choice do the rest. Or spend an extra $500 and get a custom action.

I have a model 7 HS SS in .308 with a Timney Trigger that I will let go for $800.00. This gun has a 20" stainless barrel. Round count is less than 40 Rounds. Text me for pics or look up my thread on here. 979-814-6589

I have SPS that looks real similar to this, it’s the AAC Sd model which has the 20” barrel. Dropped it in the same MagPul stock and added bottom metal plus a Timney trigger.

My daughter has been shooting it with my Sandman S since she was 13 and she’s a heck of a shot with it, dang good rifles.
